There's 3 mini series included in this past month's Spider-Man solicitations. I'll be skipping AXIS: Revolutions because I get the feeling this is just one of those comics were they just toss the character to boost sales. If anyone feels differently, they can write their opinions nonetheless.
Axis: Hobgoblin, takes Roderick Kingsley trough the motions of what was last stablished in ASM, by Dan Slott. Although I prefer Stern's original presentation, this is the first time, since he left, that the character has felt even remotely interesting to me. I liked, in particular, the fact that the authors tried to reconnect him, with his original fashion mogul persona, as seen in PPSS. We even glimpse him in some queer clothing, before he goes full suit for his show.
In general, this was a little bit too much on the comedy side of things, but it was enjoyable. Except for the part, were Lilly gets out of the water naked, only to be seen later, wearing clothes with tears right were she has cuts. Did she just went to all the trouble, of looking for clothes that would match the wounds, or did she strip them, so that they would?

I did get the first issue of ''Revolutions'' and it didn't feel like it was worth getting it as I didn't feel like I got anything more out of it story wise, I'll get the second issue but if I feel the same after that I'll leave the rest.
Hobgoblin was fine, I was more entertained by that than Revolutions. I got Carnage and that was somewhat entertaining since he was trying to be a good guy but ended up killing people anyway.
In general I don't think the minis add anything to the overall story but they're alright if you're into the characters involved.

Subsequent issue of AXIS: Revolutions, don't even feature Spider-Man (AFAIK), so there's that.
As for AXIS: Carnage, it had its moments, specially the last page was kind of entertaining, but I'm just not into the character, so I'll be focusing on Axis: Hobgoblin, which is the one I really enjoyed. Issue two coverage coming up.

Yeah I'll probably keep up with Hobgoblin because that was alright I could see myself reading that again in the future more than Revolutions at least. Funnily enough, I'm not usually into Carnage myself, must be the whole inverted situation I guess.

For me, Carnage always represented the decadence of the 90's, when it comes to Spider-Man. And you must know by now, that I hold very little love for the 90's in general. The whole symbiote affair was ill conceived to begin with, but at least the first iterations were tolerable. However, by the time the Carnage-mania was in full motion, I couldn't help but feel reassured, every time I saw a cover portraying this character, in my decision about not buying Spider-Man comics.
I try to keep an open mind, something that brought me to accept Slott's anti-Venom, but Carnage still eludes my interest, it seems.

Yeah as I say I'm not a big fan of Carnage either but the AXIS tie-in was somewhat entertaining at least, I certainly wouldn't buy an ongoing or anything. As for the 90s stuff well, it was the 90s stuff that got me onboard so it can't be all that bad right?

Okay, back to topic.
Axis: Hobgoblin #2. Still acceptable entertainment, but not quite as satisfying as the first issue. The fake adds and general feel of the comic, seem to try and take it further into parody territory. That's very difficult to manage, and unlike Superior Foes, I'm not convinced they're pulling it off. The art was a little bit less polished.

Yeah, I'd agree with that regarding Hobgoblin 2. It wasn't bad just ok.

Axis: Hobgoblin #3 is more in line with the opening salvo and actually manages to end on a high note, which is no small task considering that the first half of the comic, mostly narrated in first person from Missile Mate's point of view, represents the best pages of the whole miniseries. After that, we get a forgettable battle, until Kingsley shows us who's the apprentice and who the master.
Absolutely loved it!
