Finally, a second Spider-Man title I may care to read.
Peter David is in good form, and Bagley has been doing quite an acceptable job, for the last decade or more, so this is definitely a must for fans of the franchise. It also makes the whole Clone Conspiracy event, worth keeping.
Just one thing, doesn't the costume resemble a little to much, that of Spider-Gwen?

Four issues in, and still liking it. The thing this title has in common with Spider-Man 2099, is that both characters are Spider-Man, but they aren't Peter. PAD's characters are more cynic, prone to violence... less heroic. They're also better suited to his writing, more witty and with a darker sense of humour. Of the two, I'd be hard pressed to choose one, I've always like Miguel, but this disjointed Peter, is a lot of fun so far. About the last cover: total tease, that's literally the comic's last panel.

Four issues in, still not entirely convinced tbh. I'll wait for a few more issues I think before I give firmer thoughts about it either way.

But better than Spiderman 2099, right?

I actually don't mind 2099. Not my favourite but it's alright IMO. As I say I'll give Scarlet Spider a few more issues but at the moment it hasn't completely won me over. Or lost me to be fair.

Looks like Bagley is going to be replaced! Issue 5 is his penultimate. After bringing Spider-Man 2099 to the ground, Sliney's coming this way.

I actually don't mind Sliney personally so I'm ok with him being on Scarlet Spider. Again, he's not my favourite but compared to other artists he's good.

Compared to Bagley, you mean?

Compared to Bagley and few others I could mention. As I've said previously though I think he's good, though not as good as Bagley I think he'll do a solid job on the book personally.

Bailey's no favourite of mine, but at least he's learnt the ropes over the years. I have no hope in Sliney, he's exactly the same now than he was when he started Spider-Man 2099.

Different strokes for different folks I guess regarding Sliney.

First Sliney issue and guess what, he's actually improved since the last time I laid eyes on his work. I did notice, however, that as the issue progressed, the quality deteriorated (less backgrounds, some sloppy anatomy...) but for the most part, it was OK. He's not an A level artist, not even Bagley level, but if he's capable of increasing the number of pages he can crunch in a month, and maintain the quality he showed at the start of the issue, we have a decent artist. Going to keep this one on the list for now, PAD continues to do good writing, and even brings back an old favourite of his, from his Hulk days (man, has it really been almost 30 years since he created the character?)
