With Miles Morales making the move, to the main earth-616 universe, this comic should be in the Spider-Man Family sub-board, but somehow, when I read the title, I can't bring myself to do so. In fact, it's quite clear that Marvel wants to promote the character, as the new Spider-Man, even though he's just (and always will be) an alternate version.
As for the comic itself, Pichelli has taken the opportunity to evolve, in the time she's been absent from the character (2.5+ years). Maybe she felt that her replacement (Marquez), has emulated her style so perfectly, that he's filled her shoes. In any case, the new "dirty" Immonem look, isn't an improvement, neither over her previous self, nor over the Canadian comic book artist.
Last but not least, her storytelling blunder on page ten, is quite the unexpected surprise.

I didn't like her classroom scene but other than that I thought she did a pretty good job personally. Overall I felt it was a good issue, about a 3.6 out of 5 for the art and about a 3.2 for the story so 6.7 overall, not a bad start to the run. Looking forward to issue 2

It's a good start in absolute terms, although I'd leave at a six, flat. The problem crops out, when you compare it to the two previous #1, featuring Miles. Likewise, Pichelli is good here, but she's been better.

I try not to judge issues based on previous issues when I'm giving it a mark-out-of-ten. Don't know why, guess that's just how I roll I agree Pichelli's done better work, just thought she still did a good job overall

That's obviously the way to rate, I'm just implying that previous #1 were rated higher than 6 (IMO).

Fair enough, was merely saying what I do. Wasn't suggesting that I thought you're way was wrong or anything.

ANd I was saying, not very clearly apparently, that we both rate the sea way, for the merit of a comic on its own

To be fair it was probably more my end than yours

Anyone else thinks Bendis, will do right by Felicia? Can't do worse than what Slott did Seriously though I have faith in Bendis I think he's a good writer usually so if he's allowed to use her often enough in Spider-Man than I think he'll do at least a solid job with her in the Spider-Man book.

Of course, we all know that "doing right by her", means getting the character out of the mess Slott put it in.

It would help but since I don't see them changing her status quo anytime soon I think we'll stuck with her ''Queen Pin'' thing for a while yet.

Ok, so here she is. For the moment, as you said, she's still "unrecognisable", but at least, the character she represents now, is interesting. Let's see where Bendis takes her whole crusade.

Issue 4 is all Ganke, and although he acts really weird, it turns out to be ok. Bends is one of the few writers in the industry who can pull of something like this, without going out of character.
A warning to those wanting to buy this because of the cover: it has little to do with the inside, at least literally. The action only comes at the end, and only mirrors the cover in "spirit". The Black Cat isn't even on this issue, and Hammerhead appears only in the last panel.

Issue 5 gives us Bendis finally handling the Black Cat. While she's still playing the role of mafia headmistress, she at least behaves rationally and histrionics-free.
