Debated for months, MJ's appearance in this title, finally arrives. I don't know if it'll be a log term arrangement, but they start by giving her the cover all to herself, even though the character only has a presence in the last three pages (bordering a cameo). This resembles that old marketing trick, of having a popular character land on a title they want promoted. It's quite a curious situation, because obviously, Tony Stark has more relevance than MJ, all things considered. Maybe Marvel just doesn't want the character to go to waste, given Slott's lack of interest in using it.
As for the issue in itself, I can't say that ninjas and Iron Man mix very well. Also, I'll be keeping tabs on MJ's financial situation (how come she's now the owner of a new club?).

Not much more panel presence in issue five, but she obtains a more relevant position now. I'm not talking about the whacking of a super-villain with a microphone stand, but the epilogue, where MJ is given a new role: "Pepper" Potts v2.
I like the way Marquez draws the characters, with freckles and all.

It's early days yet but I'm interested to see what Bendis has planned for her. I'm assuming he's brought her in for more than just to attract her fanbase But yes I like Marquez's work as well, always have. As for the issue I was ''meh'' about it. Still, at least MJ is being used now.

As for the issue I was ''meh'' about it. I don't usually like magic, when mixed with superheroes, but Bendis treats it as some kind of energy, which interacts with technology in quite an interesting way. If he can pull that off, I'd say we're on for a treat.

I see in the variant cover of issue 9 MJ is wearing Iron Armour LOL. I wondered how long it'd take them to do a cover with her wearing Iron Armour. Still, good cover and I'll be trying to get that version assuming the price isn't jacked up for it LOL.

It's a plague, everyone has to get powers nowadays; talking of variants, guess which one I chose for issue 6.

In fairness it's just a cover. She might not even wear the thing in the actual issue itself.
As for the one you chose for issue 6? Well I got two myself so my guess is either the War Machine one or the one with MJ on behind Doom?

Nope, it was this one. Somehow, i get the feeling they will actually pursue the whole heroine angle, after all, she started lending a hand in combat, didn't she?

Ah. My shop didn't even have that one available, still I don't think I'd have got that one personally but glad you got the one you wanted Ozy As for MJ lending a hand in combat? I'm assuming you meant when she hit Madame Masque from behind with a mic stand? She's done that before in Spidey's books LOL. As I say it's just a variant, until something concrete comes out from Marvel themselves I'm going to assume it's nothing more than either a variant or at most for a one-off situation.

Are you positive that's a variant? It's from Deodato, who from this issue on, looks like the permanent artist on the title (sigh).

It is a variant cover, assuming we're both talking about the same image of MJ with the Armour? Although admittedly it did make headline news on CBR but I'm sure there'll be other variants to do with Issue 9 and we really don't know much about the issue and well even if it was the main cover we all know how misleading those can be.
Basically until we find out more about issue 9 and what BMB's actual plans for MJ are I'm going to assume the variant of issue 9 is nothing more than a red-herring to get people talking about it. Which to be fair is exactly what's happening LOL.

Issue 7 takes MJ to the center of the stage. It's clear she's to play the role "Pepper" Potts used to have, and Bendis even acknowledges it, by having her mentioned.
MJ using her previous relationship with Peter, to obtain the job, was quite predictable. BTW, Spider-Man makes a cameo appearance.

Please Bendis, take over ASM like... yesterday. There's little to be seen from MJ, in this episode, but Spidey makes a full appearance. She looks to be leaving, but we know that's not the case, just as we now that the story will be continued, next issue. No question about that, really.
