Good or bad idea?
I'm on the fence personally speaking. On the one hand I'm more than a little fed-up of the constant time-jumping, universe-hopping stories going on at Marvel at the moment but on the other hand I think it could be fun seeing a young Jean-Grey (616) meet up with Ultimate Shadowcat etc.

My aesthetics teacher was of the opinion that there's no such a thing as form and content, meaning that any story can be told in such a way, as to make it interesting/dull. There're, of course, some ideas that seem better than others, on paper, but I'm quite sold on the concept. It depends on how the idea is implemented.
In general, regarding Spider-Man, I'd like to see the tradeoff skewed a little towards quality. Now, try getting the people at Marvel away from quantity, and the bucks it brings.
