The analogy is still valid

Spider-Verse is officially over, with issue five, but this is not what I was expecting, from Hopeless. I know we have seen little of his plot, at this stage, but I'm not convinced by what has been printed. I was expecting something much more down to earth, and the writer is aware of these expectations, because the internal monologue in the opening sequence addresses this problem in particular. Maybe the plot was edited to that point, but this isn't the end of my problems with the plot. Urich's role in the story isn't in line with the character's trajectory.
The substitution of Land by another penciler doesn't help, either. I'm not saying Rodriguez is a bad artist, he isn't, but I liked Greg Land better.

Issue 6.
A little bit better than the last one, but still not quite there. At least, Urich's intervention is smaller, limiting the damage to the character.
I hope they remember, about the brains-behind-the-operation monitoring the heroes, when they play out the infiltration game, next month.

I thought the issue is so-so really. Still not completely sold on the costume personally, it's not awful but there's nothing ''cool'' about it either, still it's not long before Secret Wars and from the images I've seen of Jessica in the promotional pictures and she's wearing her more famous costume LOL.

In a big event, you target a wider audience. It may be a good thing, for the majority of readers, to be able to recognize the character. Also, I wonder if the introduction of a new penciler, had something to do with the change, or if it was a coincidence.

As far as the change in costume is concerned? I think that was more to do with Nick Lowe not liking the original. Though I wouldn't be surprised if the ''controversy'' over the cover issue 1 was part of the reason as well.
And yeah, I agree about the targeting a wider audience part.

Issue 7.
So much for Jessica playing the spy, she gets around by sheer luck (as in Spider-Verse) and, in this case, because of the blindness of whoever was monitoring, when she got inside Porcupine's costume.

Could be. It'd certainly give Nick Lowe an excuse to ''justify'' the change lol. As I've said previously I'm so-so on the new costume. Just don't like the fact that it feels forced due to the Editor not liking the original costume (that and probably due to the ''outrage'' over the art for the variant cover for issue 1). Just my own personal opinion Ozy. Jessica deserved a cool costume like Spider-Gwen or Silk

She does but IMO she already had one and the new one while it's ''ok'' doesn't feel ''cool'' to me. Again merely my opinion

Apparently Jessica Drew is going to have a child in October.

Who's the father?

We don't know yet. They haven't mentioned anything about who the Father is so it might be part of the plot. I've speculated Ben Ulrich (mostly as a joke) someone else has speculated the Porcupine and someone else has speculated Hawkeye. They seem to be the main three guesses at the moment LOL.

One-night-stand, anyone?

LOL It would be typical that one of the few British superheroes that Marvel uses - since she's originally from London - and she has a baby after a one-night stand Nah though I don't think Marvel would do that. Maybe if they weren't owned by Disney but since they are it'll have to be much more PC than that.

The way you talk about Disney, it reminds me of the Comics Code.
